Rights of Expatriate Citizens

Agenda :
  1. We demand fair rights for remittance citizens.
  2. Remittance citizens will actively support students and people involved in the July Biplob in Bangladesh.
  3. Provide advice and assistance to the country for overall national development.

What are the rights of remittance citizens?
  1. Expatriate remittance workers and Bangladeshis living abroad should be given full permanent citizen rights of Bangladesh, including voting, political, and national elections. Children of Bangladeshis who have acquired foreign citizenship should be granted direct citizenship of Bangladesh, as mentioned in the eighth page of the book “Voice of the People of Bangladesh”. In times of national crisis, taking their opinions is essential.
  2. Children of remittance citizens who wish to obtain Bangladeshi citizenship should be provided citizenship in exchange for a specified fee, and visa requirements should be waived.
  3. Through Bangladeshi embassies in countries where remittance citizens reside, laws should be made to provide them with Bangladeshi Smart Cards or National ID cards, aligned with their foreign passports, driving licenses, or social security cards. The “three-in-one” process should be facilitated through postal departments to enable them to buy, sell, or legally operate property without obstacles.
  4. At Bangladesh airports, 24-hour offices for remittance citizens should be established. Through these offices, remittance citizens can receive their citizenship card, smart card, and voter card “three-in-one” after arrival, paying the required fee. This process will save them time and encourage frequent visits, boosting the country’s economy.
